Salsa in Malaysia

Would you rather be a salsa instructor in Malaysia or an Electrical Engineer? Shamsul picked the former, but by the reaction of his moms, I think she'd prefer the latter:

His still remembers his parents' reaction when he told them about his career change. "There was dead silence. They did not say a word," he recalls but he figured they were probably too shocked.

I imagine that the conversation continued something like this:

"Does it pay well?"
"No."
"Do you get medical?"
"No."
"Well, are there ANY benefits?"
"OH YES!"
